CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008)
The implementation of UN GHS within the EU, in common with that in certain other world markets, has included a number of “regional variations”. We have considerable experience of this relatively new system and regularly provide detailed advice and guidance to clients. Notification of classification and labelling to the ECHA Inventory is required not only for substances subject to registration under REACH but also for many other substances. For substances on the EU Market before 1 December 2010, the deadline for such notifications (January 3, 2011) is past but for new substances notification must be made within one month of manufacture or import. As we are not a supplier of chemicals, our direct involvement in the notification of classification and labelling has been limited to updating of older registrations which lacked CLP data, but we are fully familiar with the process and can assist as much as may be required.
