SDS

EU-format Safety Data Sheets

Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are required for all hazardous substances and mixtures (and also for some mixtures not classified as hazardous, as detailed in Article 31 of the REACH Regulation) placed on the European market. The person responsible for placing the substance or preparation on the market is also responsible for providing a suitable SDS. EC Regulation 453/2010 lays down rules for producing consistent and accurate SDSs across the EU and details the information needed in each of 16 mandatory sections.

A well prepared SDS should be accurate and contain useful hazard and safety information to enable professional users to adequately assess the risks associated with use of that substance or mixture.

At BCS we prepare safety data sheet files, routinely checking publicly available data to help fill any data-gaps: these files allow manufacturers and importers of substances and mixtures to issue REACH-compliant SDSs to their customers.
